During a practice flight before the McDonald's Ft. Lauderdale International Air and Sea Show the Sukhoi DU-31 crashed offshore Port Everglades. The Richard L. Becker and TowBoatU.S. # 8 responded to the aircraft crash site. Salvage divers recovered the fuselage, wings, and engine with the deck crane. Smaller debris was recovered by divers. The aircraft was then secured onboard the Richard L. Becker and delivered to Port Everglades where it was later offloaded to a trailer for transport to a storage facility. |
