TowBoatU.S. Launch Participates
in the 38th Annual Winterfest Boat Parade

Saturday, December 12th marked the date of a longstanding holiday tradition in Ft. Lauderdale. Back in December of 1971, 20 boating enthusiasts decorated their sailboats, skiffs, yachts and dinghies and paraded them up the Intracoastal Waterway. 38 years later, the Winterfest Boat Parade has become one of the largest spectator events in the state of Florida and is enjoyed by children from age one to one hundred and one!

TowBoatU.S. entered their 46' launch boat in the parade this year. The crew spent two days decorating the boat with nearly 10,000 miniature lights and wiring it for sound. On the day of the parade, employees, family and friends all climbed aboard and enjoyed the trip from downtown Ft Lauderdale to Pompano Beach; waving and spreading holiday cheer to everyone they passed! Early the following week, winners were announced in several categories and TowBoatU.S. took top honors in "Best in Lights – Commercial Vessel." The entire parade was broadcast live on South Florida's WSVN channel 7 and is scheduled to air again on both Christmas and New Years day.
