30 foot Maxum Falls from Boatlift!

Salvage Master Chris Stevens arrived on scene minutes after TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale was dispatched to respond to a sinking 30 foot Maxum in Lighthouse Point Florida. Captain Chris assessed the situation and found the back of the boat lift had broken which likely caused the vessel to slide into the water stern first. The boat came to rest on the metal portion of the lift which in turn punctured four holes into the fiberglass hull. Next, he quickly determined the most effective method to recover the boat was to patch the holes with underwater epoxy and use two of the companies high volume gas powered pumps along with two 8,000 gallon per hour electric pumps to dewater the boat and get her back on her waterline. The machinery was flushed of all salt water and preserved directly after the salvage operation was complete as an additional effort to maintain the vessels value.
