TowBoatU.S. New River Sponsors the
February 2011 Triton Networking Event

On Wednesday, February 2nd, TowBoatU.S. New River hosted the Triton Newspaper's monthly networking event. The event was held at The Briny Pub's downtown Ft. Lauderdale location. Perfect weather combined with the River Front atmosphere made for a memorable night. There were over 300 people in attendance; many were yacht captains and crew taking this opportunity to get together with likeminded friends. The balance of the crowd was comprised of yachting industry professionals that service the needs of the yachting community here in South Florida. There were representatives from a wide variety of businesses including boatyards, yacht brokers, marine electronics and crew agencies to mention a few. TowBoatU.S. New River had several of their boats on display including their flagship yacht towing tug, Shillelagh. The company also had their 96' OSV Richard L. Becker on hand for the festivities complete with a two man submarine on deck courtesy of Triton Submarines; it is capable of diving to depths up to 1,000 feet. This sub was similar to the one displayed on M/Y Mine games during the 2010 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. TowBoatU.S. New River also displayed a slide show with hundreds of images depicting their yacht towing operations on over 25 screens throughout the venue; the largest of which was 9' by 12' and mounted on the Port Bow of the Richard L. Becker!
